Software Engineers (Multiple openings and levels)

NEW HIGH TECHNOLOGY SITE OPENING IN EAST LIBERTY!!

My Client is a 5+ year old start up that is making organic profit and expanding their company to Pittsburgh to create a new Technology Center here! They are seeking exceptional software engineers to join their team in helping their clients displace time-consuming, manual processes to reach informed real-time decisions about government markets, competitors, and agency relationships.

They are passionate about data, passionate about code, and about the product they offer.  They need  skilled and dedicated developers who share their passion and obsession with quality. As part of their team, you must be a data nerd with a strong understanding of both SQL and Linux technology.   You must also understand data and know how to bring it to life.

These are team member positions, working onsite in their new office.

Scope of Responsibilities

• Actively participate in designing, building and testing scalable data architecture

• Craft clean, testable, and maintainable code

• Participate in the end to end software development of new feature functionality and design capabilities

• Optimize processes for maximum speed and accuracy

• Regularly seek out innovation and continuous improvement, finding efficiency in all assigned tasks

• Work in an agile team in a scrum process, collaborating closely with fellow software engineers, DBEs, and QA engineers

Qualifications

Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

• Minimum 3-7 years software development experience with open source technology

• Expert at advanced SQL development

• Strong expertise with Python scripting language

• History of performing meaningful tasks in Linux

• Proficient PostgreSQL administration

• Front-end development in JAVA or React

• Prior hands-on experience working with data-driven analytics

• Experience working in agile/scrum teams

• Ability to work independently with little supervision, but team player

• A burning desire to work in challenging fast paced tech environment

Desired Skills

• Interest or experience working search-based applications using Elasticsearch

• Familiarity with Git source control management

• Experience working in a product organization

• Experience in or exposure to the nuances of a startup or other entrepreneurial environment
